The Forrester experience is built on a singular, powerful purpose: to challenge thinking and lead change.

About This Role:

Join the highest-performing team at Forrester, consulting with Fortune 500 companies and technology startups on the business value of their technology solutions and services. The Forrester Total Economic Impact (TEI) team uses a framework to help clients capture and articulate the financial value of technology investments and decisions. The TEI consultant owns the end-to-end delivery of a primary research analysis of the clients’ product, service, or investment decision, and develops a published business case study. The consultant manages multiple, concurrent studies across technology areas and conducts frequent phone and occasional in-person meetings and presentations to complete each project.  The position is 95% based in the office with occasional travel, both regional and international, to present and meet with clients. Outside of client deliverables, the consultant collaborates with other TEI consultants to innovate new product offerings and ensure continuous improvement of the TEI products and services.

Do you love working with clients but prefer sleeping in your own bed? This position is ideal for an experienced consultant who enjoys a challenging and independent office-based career requiring deep intellectual curiosity, a knack for understanding a vast array of technologies, and a love for qualitative and quantitative analysis. This position requires a strong analytical mind, great understanding of financial basics, a deep comfort with the Office suite, and excellent customer communication, speaking, writing, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end relationship and delivery of multiple client consulting projects based on primary research interviews, survey work, data analysis and Excel modeling. Oversee client communication and project management from kick off to project completion.
  • Write, edit and perfect a 20-page study in Word, including graphics, quotations, charts and other eye-catching material with frequent input from clients and peers.
  • Create and deliver PowerPoint webinars, animation scripts, infographics, and other smaller content pieces based on the original study, using templates provided by the Total Economic Impact Team.
  • Conduct executive-level phone meetings and interviews with client stakeholders and customers.
  • Convert qualitative and quantitative findings and financial data into a compelling and graphical story.
  • Design survey questionnaires with high-quality data and insights in mind. Locate and use existing Forrester research and data when appropriate to inform the financial and business analysis.
  • Provide presales support via telephone and face-to-face meetings with Forrester prospects, working with Forrester's sales and marketing teams to assist in scoping and selling TEI projects.
  • Present on audioconferences and at conferences and client meetings on occasion.
  • Participate on a product, process or sales improvement committee within the TEI team to ensure continuous improvement of the TEI products and services.

In this role, you’ll get a birds’ eye view of emerging technology solutions, companies and strategies. You’ll interact with leading technology brands and emerging, cutting-edge startup companies, gaining exposure to the technology industry landscape, go-to-market strategies, and pricing and implementation approaches. You will build your own network of technology marketers, end-users of technology, and interact with senior leaders across industries. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with Forrester’s renowned analysts who cover different technology sectors and partner on producing studies.

Consultants in this role get a deep-dive into a variety of industries and technologies, gaining up-close experience with technology product managers, product marketers, and VPs of marketing. They can become senior or principal consultants, may lead teams of consultants, or become an analyst if a particular area of technology becomes a passion. They may choose to join the technology industry in senior marketing, strategy, and business roles.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of client-facing consulting or related experience. A B.A./B.S. and a strong academic record required; advanced degree, preferably an M.B.A., is preferred.
  • Proven experience delivering projects that require excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to take in multiple sources of qualitative and quantitative data to extrapolate and draw defensible conclusions.
  • Demonstrated experience building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions. Superb, well-honed communication skills over the phone, email and in person.
  • Ability to capture business impact and metrics derived from interviews and surveys to develop a financial model.
  • A strong, collaborative work ethic, willing to help colleagues when called on to help or offer expertise.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders, internal and external, with competing priorities and timelines.
  • Demonstrated success consistently driving for and achieving results, even under tough circumstances such as changing stakeholders, hard-to-reach clients, hard-to-locate metrics or a challenging workload.

  • Demonstrated experience or deep interest in a wide range of technology topics.
  • Familiarity with quantitative survey research management and data analysis skills is appreciated.
  • The ability to collaborate across the organization to meet the needs of the client or research project.
