About This Role:

Forrester is seeking a Sales Instructional Designer to play a key role in the transformation of our approach to sales training. You must share a passion for developing innovative and engaging technology-based learning solutions that address the evolving needs of a new generation of learners, focusing on facilitation over delivery, practice over presentation, and curation over curriculum creation.

 

You will be courageous in your commitment to redefine the design and development of learning experiences that facilitate acquisition of knowledge, skills, and competencies for our global sales organization. Using Design Thinking methodology, you will establish creative standards for a blended approach curriculum that includes; ILT, VILT, eLearning, podcasts, video, just-in-time learning, gamification, and assessments.  You will collaborate with the sales training and enablement department and subject matter experts across Forrester to develop a skills-based sales training curriculum that meets our global sales team’s needs. Your work will benefit the entire sales force, from new hires through ongoing development of our tenured sales team members.

Responsibilities

  • Apply adult learning and the latest instructional design theories and technologies to design innovative content and activities that engage learners, enhance performance, and improve the quality of learning experiences.
  • Develop sales tools, including scripts, job aids, role-play scenarios, learning activities, instructor-led presentations, facilitation guides, and learner workbooks. 
  • Partner with subject matter experts across the organization.
  • Define the criteria for learning performance, and develop assessments.
  • Administer and maintain content, curriculum, and system capabilities in the Cornerstone learning management system.
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of new trends and tools in learning and development.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in instructional design and curriculum development.
  • A bachelor’s degree in education, business, or a related field.
  • Experience working with salespeople and an understanding of effective engagement strategies.
  • Extensive experience using digital content creation solutions such as Captivate, Articulate, Storyline, Camtasia, InDesign, Photoshop, or similar software tools.
  • Solid curriculum design skills using instructional design best practices, with the ability to take complex tasks and/or subject matter and develop meaningful, simplified content.
  • An agile mindset, prioritizing impact over activity, with a bias toward simple action to test, learn, and improve.
  • Creative, outside-the-box thinking and a willingness to try new things in response to business needs.
  • Strong planning, project management, and time management skills with an ability to set and maintain priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong and transparent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
