About This Role:


The Senior Consultant scopes and delivers strategic consulting projects leveraging our published research on marketing, digital business, customer experience, and customer insights. The Senior Consultant has three major responsibilities:


  • Lead and deliver research-leveraged consulting projects, including conducting intake interviews and client workshops, analyzing client data to evaluate client inputs, synthesizing conclusions, and developing recommendations.
  • Develop repeatable consulting offerings and tools based on our published methodologies.
  • Partner with our sales representatives and solution partners to promote our consulting capabilities with prospects and clients.


The ideal candidate has strong core management consulting skills, domain experience and expertise across a variety of industries in the above-referenced fields, and experience working in small, highly collaborative, client-focused teams. He or she must be detail oriented and a strong team player with superior written and verbal communication skills, innate intellectual curiosity, deep analytical capabilities, and very strong project management skills. This role is best suited for someone who wants to work on high-impact projects that cover a broad range of industries.


  • Lead and deliver research-leveraged consulting projects, including conducting intake interviews and client workshops, analyzing client data to evaluate client inputs, synthesizing conclusions, and developing recommendations.
  • Develop high-quality, well-structured, compelling, and impactful presentations and deliverables using PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients. 
  • Deliver thought leadership presentations at internal and external events (e.g., conferences, forums).
  • Develop sample deliverables, frameworks, project plans, and associated marketing materials for repeatable consulting offerings.
  • Partner with sales reps and business development directors to identify prospects for consulting offerings based on analysis of clients and prospects who attend Forrester events and workshops, request analyst inquiries, or read research reports.
  • Establish and manage client expectations, communication, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to project commitments.
  • Achieve personal revenue targets on a quarterly basis.
  • Identify opportunities for new research streams based on feedback from clients and trends in our engagements with clients.


  • A combination of six to 12 years of management consulting and industry practitioner experience that includes deep exposure to functions, principles, and strategies, including digital business, marketing, customer experience, and customer insights.
  • Proven management consulting experience and practice in the digital, marketing, customer experience, and customer insights spaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve key performance metrics such as utilization rates or revenue targets.
  • Experience engaging with senior-level business executives.
  • Experience preparing deliverable vehicles for clients, owning and delivering the finished product, and taking the outputs of workshops and creating client-facing deliverables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
  • Formal project management experience or training.
  • Appreciation for the form factor of deliverables.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with others in high-pressure sales situations.
  • Experience working with third-party providers (e.g., agencies, vendors, designers, artists).
  • Experience working with subject matter experts with deep content knowledge.
  • Training and/or experience in some sales methodology (preferred).
  • A strong academic record of achievement.
  • The ability to travel up to 50% of the time. 
  • This role can be based in Cambridge, MA; San Francisco; or New York.
