About This Role:

As part of Forrester’s continued success and growth, our event sales group is looking for an aggressive inside sales representative to fuel further expansion. The Sales Development Specialist role is part of the event sponsorship sales team and works with sponsorship sales representatives and the director of sales for events to identify new opportunities and opportunities within named prospects. The Sales Development Specialist works within a tightly defined sales process to ensure a consistent and unified approach to selling Forrester services and promoting customer satisfaction and loyalty. This is a high-volume telephone and email contact environment that requires strong organizational capabilities, attention to detail, initiative, and a desire to work as part of a team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Achieve designated call volumes and meeting-setting metrics.
  • Support sponsorship representatives who sell to and maintain relationships with technology marketing, analyst relations, and other C-level professionals.
  • Understand the goals, objectives, and/or products of a targeted set of companies and the specific management titles and organizational structure of those companies.
  • Perform name and organizational development at named accounts.
  • Research competitor websites for new sponsorship prospects.
  • Engage clients/prospects via the phone to outline Forrester’s unique value proposition and create sufficient interest to secure an introductory meeting with a Forrester sponsorship representative.
  • Develop an understanding of clients’ business issues and how to articulate Forrester’s value proposition.
  • Understand Forrester Forum values and sponsorship inventory for selling purposes.
  • Work closely with the Forrester event logistics team and from time to time perform logistics duties before, during, and after Forums.
  • 10% travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • S. or B.A. or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of two years of inside sales experience.
  • Event/sponsorship sales experience (a plus).
  • Effective organization and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
