About this Role:

 

The Technical Architect role at Forrester is to work with team members from across the organization on a variety of projects touching web, mobile, content management, CRM, and analytics systems. This exceptional candidate must be able to contribute to the definition of requirements and convert them into a high-performing, scalable architecture. You will be a part of the web architecture team and collaborate with seasoned developers to make these designs a reality.

Responsibilities

  • Using Agile architecture principles, develop technical designs that meet customer requirements in the most optimal way.
  • Provide technical design and guidance for the development team. Collaborate with other architects in generating innovative ideas.
  • Develop Java-based web applications. Be a rockstar developer, but also understand how to design a solution and hand-off to others.
  • Design and implement RESTful web services for client-facing applications.

Qualifications

  • Ten-plus years designing and building Java-based web applications; seven-plus years working on production-level applications; and a solid understanding of object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) and design patterns.
  • Technical skills - Java, JSF, and other Java EE technologies; ActiveMQ or an equivalent JMS messaging broker; REST; UML; Tomcat
  • Knowledge of SSO technologies including SAML and OAuth2 is highly desirable.
  • Any working experience of ESB (Mule), Microservices, AWS (API Gateway/Lambda) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting production systems. 
  • The drive to innovate with the latest tools and strategies.
  • Extensive Agile development experience and an understanding of how the architecture role succeeds in that process. 
  • Solid communication and negotiation skills and the ability to express complex technical issues to a diverse audience (technical and nontechnical).
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or an equivalent technical field is desired.
