Fuel your intellectual curiosity and professional growth. Forrester is an idea company, where smart, motivated, curious people bring a diversity of opinions and the courage of their convictions to collaborate on ideas that change the course of business. Most of all, bring a point of view; here, every voice has value. At Forrester, you’ll work with innovative clients at emerging and established brands; these are the business and technology leaders we inspire and who inspire us. The Forrester experience is built on a singular, powerful purpose: to challenge thinking and lead change.

About This Role:

We are looking for a Software Engineer, to join our growing data technology team. This role is responsible for building systems to consume data, export data, improve data quality, and innovate our data pipeline.  You will be a key part of Forrester Data's emerging efforts to embed our data products into our clients’ and partners’ systems. As such, we are looking for an engineer who is technically talented, collaborates well with others, and is driven to make a difference rather than be one of a thousand engineers working on a system. We have a small, talented team and we move quickly.

The Software Engineer, Data is responsible for transforming the accessibility of Forrester’s Technographics® data into compelling APIs and services. You’ll work within a talented team and partner with many departments outside the technology organization to solve complex problems. The Software Eningeer, Data will be responsible for developing services, APIs, and architectures to support the expanding needs of our data business.

  • Consuming data: Drive the collection of a wide range of new and existing data sources, including the test frameworks to monitor and fix data quality and availability. One example is securely integrating client data with proprietary Forrester data to support custom insights.
  • Exporting data: Partner with internal and external teams to design and build solutions that enable us to embed our data into a growing range of technologies and platforms.
  • Improving quality: Develop systems and processes to ensure we meet our security, reliability, quality, and performance goals.
  • Innovating: Identify new ways to package our existing data capabilities into a flexible platform for data collection and distribution, such as building an API to store and reuse analyses across data tools.

  • Must love data and building things, such as tools, APIs, and platforms that transfer large amounts of data from heterogeneous systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of or experience with Python, Java, or C / C++.
  • Experience designing data structures in relational and nonrelational AWS-managed data stores (DynamoDB, Redshift, S3, RDS, etc.).
  • The ability to integrate multiple technologies, such as security (e.g., NGINX, Incapsula), cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Azure), and web services (e.g., REST, SOAP).
  • Someone who is detail oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized.
  • Coursework, training or a degree in an analytical or technical field, such as computer science, information science, or math.

If you're excited about this role, but do not meet 100% of the qualifications above, we encourage you to apply.
