About This Role:
Analysts conduct innovative research and deliver advice through written reports, consulting, client inquiries, and speeches. As part of Forrester’s CIO research team, the Vice President, Principal Analyst serves CIOs and other tech leaders who are responsible for maximizing the business value of technology.

We are specifically looking for a candidate who has deep knowledge and experience with the issues that CIOs face every day namely hiring, retaining, training, and motivating people. These issues include organization, change management, culture, structure, talent, and employee experience.  Candidates must demonstrate the confidence and ability to present to and advise clients across industries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of how CIOs can develop people strategies that enable them to deliver success for their customers and company.
  • Help define the future of IT by developing forward looking insights on how key trends will change the future operating model and what CIOs need to do to prepare.
  • Write four long research documents per year that convey new ideas and create four shorter pieces that summarize and frame important ideas for CIOs and other key tech leaders.
  • Consult with clients to apply Forrester’s research in the context of their business environment and help solve their problems through inquiry and advisory.
  • Present at Forrester-sponsored and industry-related events, and deliver client webinars.
  • Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker. Participate in vendor briefings and field press inquiries as necessary.
  • Support sales in client development discussions.

Qualifications

  • Experience in developing leading edge thinking around people issues including organization design, culture, structure, talent, and employee experience in either a corporate or consulting environment. Experience deploying these insights with technology organizations (eg, IT)A strong record of academic achievement: a B.A. or B.S. at a minimum; an MBA or M.S. is preferred.
  • Deep intellectual curiosity about the effect of technology on customers a and how CIOs and other tech leaders can leverage these insights to improve their people strategies
  • Ideally have demonstrable experience with metrics and governance.
  • Superior listening, critical thinking, and writing skills, as well as memorable presentation skills. Analysts are expected to take complex, disparate ideas and distill them into simple, provocative concepts — and be willing to take a stand on vendors and outcomes.
  • The ability to travel 30% to 50% of the time.
