About This Role:

Reporting to the global manager, contracts, the Contracts Analyst is an integral part of the global contracts team in the finance department. The position is involved in several areas of the sales contracting process, including order creation, approval, exception negotiation and approval, metrics reporting, and special projects, as needed. It also involves system enhancements and sales support on the Salesforce, DocuSign, and Apttus systems. The Contracts Analyst must be a highly motivated, detail-oriented, service-focused individual with the capacity to see the big picture and make connections between what they know and the problem they are trying to solve. She/he will work independently to ensure positive outcomes for both clients and Forrester as it relates to our contractual arrangements; the compliance of client contracts with internal business, finance, and sales policies; the accuracy of revenue-related items in our contracts; and the accuracy of information in the contracts system.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support internal constituents, sales representatives, and clients by being a trusted source for information about our contracts and contracts-related policies and procedures.
  • Review exception requests and, if appropriate, approve exceptions up to the preset delegation of authority. 
  • Deliver solutions for non-standard contract requests, such as client-required paperwork, custom pricing requests, contract adjustments and amendments, and other unique situations as they develop.
  • In conjunction with legal and accounting-revenue, negotiate the financial and revenue-related aspects of contracts according to approved guidelines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in finance to ensure that contracts are properly recorded from an accounting perspective.
  • Identify, gather, analyze, and report on key contract metrics and trends to the management and executive teams to facilitate business decisions.
  • Act as team liaison on projects or programs.
  • Engage and train sales on contract best practices and the Salesforce/Apttus tool.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or another related field.
  • Someone with high attention to detail and who can work under constant deadlines while maintaining a strong service focus and an awareness of the requirements of serving a global company.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and interact with all levels across the organization.
  • A self-starter who seeks out opportunities for improvement, is highly accountable for their role, and is curious about making connections between their work and the work of others in the company.
  • Proficiency using a computer and Microsoft Office.
  • Prior experience with Salesforce (preferred).
