Forrester is an idea company, where smart, motivated, curious people bring a diversity of opinions and the courage of their convictions to collaborate on ideas that change the course of business. Most of all, bring a point of view; here, every voice has value. At Forrester, you’ll work with innovative clients at emerging and established brands; these are the business and technology leaders we inspire and who inspire us. The Forrester experience is built on a singular, powerful purpose: to challenge thinking and lead change.

    About This Role:

Analysts conduct innovative research and deliver advice through written reports, consulting, client inquiries, and speeches. As a part of Forrester’s research team, this Analyst serves professionals who are responsible for the success of their firms’ CRM technology strategies related to supporting direct sales forces, including, but not limited to, sales force automation (SFA), customer success, relationship analytics, and sales engagement platforms across a variety of different vertical markets.

Candidates need a strong understanding of the technology, vendor solutions, processes, governance, and trends that technology professionals supporting sales organizations are facing today and an appetite for conducting and writing research to stay abreast of those issues.

    • Help shape the future of CRM and SFA by providing thought-provoking research that hones in on the future of sales technologies and its impact on an organization’s sales practice across different vertical markets.
    • Help define technology approaches and best practices that organizations use to improve sales outcomes.
    • Advise Forrester clients on how to optimize their CRM assets to help improve sales outcomes.
    • Collaborate with business insights senior and principal analysts to help our technology- and business-focused clients with their insights initiatives.
    • Conduct research and author reports with a clear point of view on market trends, business strategies, and best practices for CRM and sales automation technologies.
    • Write a number of research documents per year that convey new ideas in a rich business context. These reports typically: 1) introduce new thinking about successful strategies and best and next practices; 2) present strategic maturity assessments and improvement road maps; 3) compare new technologies or services and their potential to help clients solve their business challenges (e.g., via a Forrester Wave™ evaluation); or 4) identify best practices that affect end user value.
    • Lead consulting engagements with clients to apply Forrester’s research in the context of their specific business environments and help solve their problems through inquiry, advisory, and project consulting.
    • Present at Forrester-sponsored and industry-related events, and deliver client webinars.
    • Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker; build relationships with senior-level practitioners, as well as with the technology vendors that serve them and the journalists who cover the sector; and participate in vendor briefings and field press inquiries as necessary.

    • A minimum of five to seven years of experience as a practitioner (in an operational or consulting role) or as a product marketing/management professional with a vendor directly related to CRM, or equivalent time as an analyst in this space.
    • A strong record of academic achievement: B.A. or B.S. minimum; MBA or M.S. preferred.
    • Deep intellectual curiosity about the effect of technology on the business landscape; solid business instincts and a practical understanding of what makes companies tick; and a creative view of markets, technologies, and attitudes combined with a fascination with the future.
    • Superior listening, critical thinking, and writing skills, as well as memorable presentation skills. Senior Analysts/Analysts are expected to take complex, disparate ideas and distill them into simple, provocative concepts and be willing to take a stand on vendors and outcomes.
    • The ability to travel 25% of the time.
