Fuel your intellectual curiosity and professional growth. Forrester is an idea company, where smart, motivated, curious people bring a diversity of opinions and the courage of their convictions to collaborate on ideas that change the course of business. Most of all, bring a point of view; here, every voice has value. At Forrester, you’ll work with innovative clients at emerging and established brands; these are the business and technology leaders we inspire and who inspire us. The Forrester experience is built on a singular, powerful purpose: to challenge thinking and lead change.

    About This Role:

We’re looking for a data-savvy individual to join our data science team. Using survey-based transactional, operational, and behavioral data, you will perform data analytics to drive insights and client decision making. You will also use your data science expertise to automate cleaning, processing, and analyzing our data sources. You’ll collaborate with a diverse set of internal colleagues — with our subject matter experts to develop new, proprietary analytic frameworks; with data team members to bring our data to life; with our customer experience team to mine Forrester’s Customer Experience Index (CX Index™) data; and with our consulting teams to propel data-driven strategy for our clients. We’re looking for a candidate who has experience with translating data into actionable insights and linking it to the client’s business initiatives. The candidate should have a proven track record of analyzing consumer behaviors using advanced analytics, combined with client interfacing skills. The candidate must marshal data, analysis, ideas, and recommendations into compelling deliverables that help clients be more successful.

    Responsibilities

    • Empower data-driven decisions for our clients based on customer needs and behaviors.
    • Merge customer transactional, operational, and behavioral data with market research data.
    • Explore and test new data sets with the goal of augmenting our survey products. Build lookalike models to merge together disparate data sources.
    • Automate existing data cleaning and analysis processes.
    • Process and analyze large amount of data to study relationships and trends.
    • Lead statistical analysis; develop predictive models for consumer behavior; utilize statistical techniques such as cluster analysis, regression modeling, and correspondence analysis; perform factor analysis; and perform data mining.
    • Be the analytics lead to collaborate with subject matter experts to create proprietary data frameworks that help clients make data-driven business decisions.
    • Support consulting projects by processing and analyzing client transactional, operational, and survey data.

    Qualifications

    • A. or B.S. minimum; MBA or M.S. is preferred. Areas of study in a quantitative field, such as statistics or mathematics, economics, marketing analytics, computer science, psychology, or business preferred.
    • Extensive experience using R for data prep, analysis, and machine learning.
    • Experience collecting data from multiple sources, from web APIs to SQL databases to web scraping.
    • A minimum of five years of industry experience within these fields: market research, data science, analytics.
    • Nice to have: some experience with text analytics and natural language processing.
    • Industry experience with data mining and building predictive and statistical models.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex findings to nontechnical audiences. Comfortable speaking at conferences and in front of large audiences.
    • The ability to work independently without day-to-day supervision and as part of a global research team.
