Forrester is an idea company, where smart, motivated, curious people bring a diversity of opinions and the courage of their convictions to collaborate on ideas that change the course of business. Most of all, bring a point of view; here, every voice has value. At Forrester, you’ll work with innovative clients at emerging and established brands; these are the business and technology leaders we inspire and who inspire us. The Forrester experience is built on a singular, powerful purpose: to challenge thinking and lead change

    About this role

This is an exciting time to join Forrester’s Web Development team: Forrester is transforming how it delivers web content, evolving our current platforms to incorporate more personalized and engaging digital content. On a daily basis, you will be part of the team coming up with creative, simple fixes to knotty technical and user experience challenges. You will play a critical role in the scrum team’s daily standups, testing, and demos.

As a Product Owner on the Web Development team, your job is to ensure the successful delivery of projects that integrate with or enhance Forrester’s website (www.forrester.com). You will work with our Agile development and design teams on the delivery of high-priority and highly visible projects within 3-week iteration cycles. You will play a critical role, as the Agile Product Owner, in the scrum team’s daily standups, check-ins, testing, and demo launch days.

Exciting upcoming project opportunities are both technical and client-facing, including redesigning our website provisioning integration with Salesforce to unlock critical packaging flexibility and launching a new guest website experience. This position is a critical role in our company because it connects business needs and requirements with our technical constraints and capabilities, to deliver creative and timely improvements that delight our internal and external clients. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are crucial as you delegate and clarify project feature enhancements in both technical and business terms.

    Responsibilities

The Product Owner supports major and minor web and integration projects. Reporting to the Director, Portfolio & Processes, you will be responsible for executing projects within the Agile software development lifecycle.

    Your responsibilities include:

    • Leading project team members and high-level business stakeholders, including VPs and Directors, to deliver enhancements
    • Working with the non-technical team members to envision a clear, high-level technical solution that meets business and experience goals, without undue technical complexity
    • Identifying, sizing and prioritizing increments of work to be targeted for each iteration
    • Communicating the project status, readiness, issues and risks to management & stakeholders
    • Owning the process of documenting end user stories, project risks, and dependencies within a project backlog
    • Working closely with the project team, particularly the ScrumMaster and Technical Architect, to design, develop, test, and deploy enhancements based on Forrester’s Agile release process and iteration schedule
    • Helping define and establish Forrester’s Agile processes, standards, and best practices

    Qualifications

We welcome and reward intellectual excellence, curiosity, and sophisticated thinking and look for:

    • BA/BS required
    • One to five years of full life-cycle Agile product ownership/business analysis work experience in a web development organization required
    • Demonstrated experience with Agile software development methods and roles
    • Strong analytical skills including ability to analyze business problems and isolate and advocate best technical solutions
    • Proven success as an individual contributor, as well as a track record of strong positive teamwork, proactive collaboration, and effective problem resolution
    • Preferred familiarity with web technologies: responsive web design, content management systems, analytics packages, and search engines
