    About This Role:

    The Senior Systems Engineer (SSE) will report to the VP, Infrastructure, Operations & Security, whose primary responsibilities are to work with the Technical Operations team in building, maintaining, and securing Forrester's internal and cloud infrastructures.  The SSE manages day-to-day production and monitoring of Forrester's environment to ensure system uptime and integrity.  The SSE will work with other team members on software and hardware deployment projects and system, network and data center administration and maintenance.  They will research, test and deploy new technologies. 


    • Provide the highest level of technical support and maintenance for mission-critical infrastructure applications and hardware.
    • Provide technology guidance to Help Desk and Web & Business Development Operations.
    • Responsible for DR/BC, backups and restores for cloud, SAAS, and On-prem servers and applications.
    • Configure and deploy server software and hardware.
    • Research, test, document, and implement new technologies.
    • Securing on-prem and cloud infrastructure, including server OS and application hardening.
    • Work closely with Technical Operations team to maintain systems, LAN, and WAN.
    • Provide second- and third-level escalation support to Help Desk.


    • Ten-plus years' experience supporting and configuring Microsoft server OS, applications, storage hardware, networks, and cloud services.
    • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem solving skills.
    • Experience with VMWare, Nutanix, NetApp, AWS, Azure.
    • Experience with SCCM, Group Policy, Power Shell and VMWare Power CLI.
    • Thorough knowledge of Windows Active Directory, Server 2012, 2016, Azure, O365.
    • Thorough knowledge of securing Microsoft Cloud, server and applications.
    • Experience with DR & BC and backup technologies: Rubrik, Zerto, Avamar, Data Domain, DD boost, Crashplan, Backupify, OwnBackup, Elastic, Netbackup
    • Experience with Monitoring software: VROps, HQ, Whats Up, Splunk
    • Experience managing technology projects.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
    • Passion for technology innovation.
    • Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
    • Willingness to be on-call after hours and on weekends as part of a regular rotation.
    • Technical certification is a plus.
