    About This Role:

    Forrester’s product organization is responsible for the creation of our syndicated product offerings for clients. Our mission is to help business and technology leaders develop customer-obsessed strategies that drive top-line growth. We do this with a product portfolio that analyzes data about the market and consumers, establishes thought leadership in the marketplace, provides road maps to tackle large business transformation, and connects clients with other clients to share best practices and approaches.


    We are looking for a dynamic business leader to grow this $300-million portfolio by repositioning our product approach and delivery into one that delivers on value-based solutions to our clients across the portfolio.


    The SVP Product: Client Solutions will be responsible for working across the product management organization to ensure that our product set hangs together as true solutions for our clients’ big business transformations, such as “Differentiating with Digital,” “Drive Revenue with Great Customer Experience,” and “Secure the Brand, Protect the Clients.” She/he will create and execute on an inspiring vision and solution strategy for our product portfolio that will deliver double-digit growth for the company.


    The position reports directly to the chief research and product officer and will be responsible for building out a team that will design, price, and manage solutions for our clients.


    As part of the senior leadership in Forrester’s product organization, this position will work closely with the other product leaders, sales, marketing, tech management, and the executive team to position us to offer full solutions in the marketplace. 



    The SVP Products: Client Solutions is responsible for financial performance, evolving and launching our solution set, as well as the daily operations of our client solution offerings. He/she must possess the relevant strategic, operational, and industry experience to lead this effort globally. Specifically, the SVP Product: Client Solutions will exhibit these key traits:


    • External client focus. Stays close to the business needs and changing market dynamics of our external clients to enrich their solutions. Proactively engages clients throughout the solutions development process. Actively listens, understands their needs and expectations, and excites them to be part of the process.
    • Internal stakeholder focus. Builds collaborative, trusting relationships internally and across sales, marketing, technology, and product to enrich client solutions. Partners with the sales channel to seek and understand the sales perspective and to build confidence and excitement for the product/solution rollout.
    • Rapid innovation. Proactively works with the CRPO, senior executives, and peers to collaboratively discover and develop full, enhanced, scalable solutions.
    • Product life-cycle methodology. Leverages deep knowledge and a strong POV of product lifecycle management, from ideation to best-practice rollout. Drives and adapts cross-functional design thinking and product development methodology to meet Forrester needs.
    • Strategy and alignment. Creates and communicates an inspiring vision and product/solution strategy by partnering with senior leadership and the executive team to ensure alignment with organizational goals:
      • Drives the move to digital delivery of products and solutions, where appropriate.
      • Identifies specific industry opportunities (e.g., financial services, retail, technology).
      • Builds and maintains prioritized strategy road maps (one, three, and five year) and milestones to achieve high-growth revenue and innovation goals.
    • Quickly focuses on prioritized road map to drive execution, from conception to product rollout, ongoing maintenance, and retirement. Works with product managers to ensure new product enhancements fit into a larger solution. Develops profitability models, solution packages, and pricing strategies to optimize value over the lifetime of products or solutions. Measures the ROI and drives assigned bookings, revenues, and margins to exceed goals.


    • Proven track record of creating, driving, and executing the vision and strategy for product offerings. This includes: leading through the entire product life cycle, from assessing market and technology trends and client needs to realizing business opportunities and designing and implementing full, scalable solutions.
    • Minimum of 10 years’ successful product management experience and team leadership, including three years in digital and/or disruptive product development experience.
    • Proven track record of creating economic models that have driven top- and bottom-line business results, i.e., achieved annual double-digit growth with significant sales increases (including cross sales and upsells) and improved margins.
    • Experience in successfully leading internal change programs, demonstrating an ability to maneuver well within the organization.
    • Proven success in creating and delivering solutions on time and in scope, e.g., working with Agile software development processes and collaborating with internal and external cross-functional teams.
    • A clear demonstration of business and commercial acumen and a track record of successfully managing a product P&L; an MBA is preferred.
    • Proven track record of communicating with and influencing executive team members — demonstrating executive presence through flexibility and the ability to process information quickly to adjust and adapt approach “in the moment.”
    • Proven ability to mentor others on product development methodology and process.
    • Experience building and leading cross-functional teams and hiring and scaling a high-performing, direct team to achieve successful outcomes in a complex environment.
    • Strong project management experience, with an ability to clearly define input versus output measures and drive collaboration across functions (e.g., product, marketing, sales, customer/user experience), to energize indirect teams to achieve stretching goals.
    • Additional relevant experience may include a SaaS background, management consulting, and operating in a startup environment. Industries served may include financial services and retail.
