    About This Role:

    The Associate Consultant plays a crucial role in the delivery of consulting engagements for marketing and strategy clients, which include customer experience, digital business, customer insights, and marketing strategy practice domains. As part of client-facing delivery teams, the Associate Consultant leads the project management function to ensure that engagements are on track to deliver against a specific scope of work. Working closely with other resources on the consulting team, in addition to other roles within Forrester, the Associate Consultant helps create high-quality consulting deliverables, such as market, customer, and competitor analyses; business cases; organizational capability assessments; vision and strategy documentation road maps and recommendations; and guidance in the support of vendor selection. A key aspect of the role includes the collection and analysis of both client and industry data, which serves as a critical input to project deliverables. He or she also helps research, develop, and refine our consulting methods and offerings to help mature the practice area. This is a client-facing role, and you can expect to be heavily involved in working directly with Forrester clients on their most challenging initiatives.

     

    The ideal candidate has experience in one or more areas of customer experience, digital marketing, eCommerce, or marketing strategy and has previously served in a client-facing role. He or she must have a very high level of intellectual curiosity, a strong desire to learn, and a combination of strong analytic, writing, and communication skills. Successful Associate Consultants are also well organized and have past formal project management experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the delivery of consulting projects by serving as the project manager; conducting interviews with clients, customers, and partners; designing surveys; analyzing data; applying analytic frameworks; co-facilitating client workshops; synthesizing insights; developing conclusions and recommendations; and preparing and presenting deliverables.
    • Collaborate across the Forrester ecosystem to coordinate project activities across several functions and geographies.
    • Partner with other members of Forrester’s consulting team to create high-quality, well-structured, and user-friendly PowerPoint client deliverables.
    • Achieve personal performance targets that contribute to consulting’s overall performance.
    • Act as project manager for multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Undertake extensive learning (both formal and on-the-job) to build consulting and specialized practice domain expertise.
    • Support administration of projects within the Forrester systems.
    • Codify and support management of consulting content within knowledge management systems.
    • Work closely with other teams across Forrester such as research, events, data, and internal partners.

    Qualifications

    • A combined minimum of two to three years of management consulting or equivalent experience.
    • A bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field of study; a graduate business degree is a plus.
    • Strong business acumen (demonstrated via past experience), critical thinking skills, and mental agility to ramp quickly.
    • Experience in one or more of the following areas: digital marketing, marketing strategy, marketing technology, digital business, customer experience strategy and design, and customer insights and analytics.
    • Superior communication, writing, and presentation skills and the ability to prepare client-facing materials.
    • Strong time management and organizational skills.
    • Highly motivated, energetic, and outgoing with a natural desire to accept challenges and diverse assignments.
    • Experience engaging with senior business leaders.
    • Formal project management experience
    • Very strong and speedy analytical capabilities.
    • Attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, thorough understanding of macroeconomic principles, and the ability to apply these principles to analyzing and solving problems.
    • Desire and commitment to strive for excellence in client and service delivery.
    • The ability to collaborate effectively with others in high-pressure situations across various time zones.
    • Experience or familiarity with Salesforce.
    • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve personal performance targets.
    • The ability to travel up to 30%.
