    About This Role:

    The Survey Manager is a critical member of Forrester’s Analytics team, reporting to the Director of Data Operations & Insights. This Survey Manager position will support Forrester’s Technographics product. In this role, they will work closely with stakeholders in client engagement, research, and operations to design, manage, and process surveys and the resulting data. This includes designing studies with multiple stakeholders, crafting top-quality questionnaires, overseeing field management, and managing the data cleaning process to prepare for client release.

     

    This individual is experienced and comfortable working with internal and external clients, has high standards for research and data quality, and can manage multiple projects under time-critical business deadlines. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience designing and managing surveys, cleaning datasets, and has excellent communication skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead discussion and build consensus with internal and external clients to strategically guide business-to-consumer and business-to-business survey content development.
    • Design survey questionnaires with high-quality data and insights in mind.
    • Manage the survey fielding process with vendors (including testing, translations, quotas/weighting schemes, and monitoring fielding) to implement surveys.
    • Oversee the cleaning and quality assurance of data sets using SPSS and other tools.
    • Prepare dataset to work effectively in proprietary data analysis platform.
    • Work with client engagement team to develop survey content and answer questions about the data after it is released.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated quantitative survey research management and data processing skills gained from three-to-five years of work experience in market research, preferably on the supplier side.
    • Expertise in survey data handling processes like quota management, weighting, data quality assurance, vendor management, and data cleaning.
    • Strong experience with SPSS or other data analytic software such as R.
    • A sharp attention to detail and high personal standards for quality and thoroughness.
    • The ability to manage large scale, complex surveys with strict quota requirements and tight deadlines.
    • An outgoing personality, as this role requires significant interaction with stakeholders and the ability to act as a market insights authority.
    • An ability to work well as part of a global research team and independently, without needing close day-to-day supervision.
    • Experience with conducting research outside of North America, as well as managing global studies.
    • Superior oral and written communication skills.
    • A bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree in social sciences is a plus.
