  • Overview

Fuel your intellectual curiosity and professional growth. Forrester is an idea company, where smart, motivated, curious people bring a diversity of opinions and the courage of their convictions to collaborate on ideas that change the course of business. Most of all, they bring a point of view; here, every voice has value. At Forrester, you’ll work with innovative clients at emerging and established brands; these are the business and technology leaders we inspire and who inspire us. The Forrester experience is built on a singular, powerful purpose: to challenge thinking and lead change.

    About This Role:

As the Research Project Coordinator, you will lead operations and manage the process associated with delivering Forrester’s primary vendor evaluation (The Forrester Wave™). In this role, you will greatly influence the quality of these research evaluations and the experience that Forrester clients have with them.

In Forrester’s vendor evaluations, we follow a transparent methodology to compare the players in the software and services marketplaces. Our clients use these evaluations to understand technology markets and inform technology purchasing decisions. Our methodology is a multiweek process that involves defining the evaluation scope, selecting vendors for inclusion, working with vendors to gather information, conducting primary research with customers, scoring vendors, and fact-checking results.

As the Research Project Coordinator, you will manage the evaluation process, working closely with Forrester analysts to educate them on the evaluation methodology and create informative, hard-hitting evaluations based on their area of expertise. You will act as the primary point of contact for analyst relations professionals and executives working for the vendors that participate in the evaluations. You will also interact with other Forrester teams — such as publishing, sales, marketing, and production — to create and share a consistent and highly valued research product.

The Research Project Coordinator is not expected to have expertise in content areas but will work with Forrester’s research team to conduct the methodology.

    • Manage software and services research projects from beginning to end.
    • Work with analysts to define and refine the scope of the evaluation, inclusion criteria, and scoring criteria.
    • Lead kickoff calls with analysts and vendors.
    • Schedule and attend vendor briefings with research analysts.
    • Schedule and coordinate customer reference interviews.
    • Manage important report deadlines and publishing requirements.
    • Act as the primary point of contact in discussions with vendors.
    • Assist in the building of Excel-based Forrester Wave models.
    • Manage fact-checking (screener and vendor scorecard review), graphics, and report production.
    • Provide support for presentation and graphics creation for Forrester Wave reports.
    • Work to improve the methodology and operations steps in creating and designing Forrester Wave evaluations.

    • B.A./B.S., with a strong academic record and at least two years of professional work experience, preferably in a role that required strong project management or organizational skills.
    • An ability to multitask across projects, with a strong attention to detail.
    • Strong professional communication skills, particularly with clients and vendors. This includes the ability to manage disagreements related to scoring, fact-checking, and scoring previews.
    • Experience with Excel, including macros, and with using tools to build online surveys.
    • Familiarity or strong interest in learning about technology concepts such as cloud computing, digital experience, Agile application development, and enterprise business applications.
