    About This Role:

    The Research Associate (RA) plays a crucial role in Forrester’s research efforts by working with analysts to drive the research process. RAs help set research plans, facilitate interactions with internal and external subject matter experts, and apply Forrester methodologies to help analysts produce high-quality and objective deliverables. As RAs progress in a career at Forrester, they may take on additional responsibilities, including designing graphics for publication, assisting with document writing and blogging, analyzing survey data, and/or conducting research interviews.


    • Work with Forrester analysts on primary and secondary research.
    • Project-manage short- and long-term research initiatives, such as software product evaluations.
    • Assist in building maturity models, self-assessment tools, and frameworks to help clients understand Forrester’s research and data.
    • Work with analysts to design data and conceptual graphics for client advisory sessions, conferences, and webinars.
    • Assist in the creation and execution of surveys and data analysis using Excel and other tools.
    • Coordinate interviews with technology decision makers about their priorities and choices of enterprise technology solutions.
    • Manage relationships with vendor representatives, sales, and the press.
    • Work with research directors to track and analyze internal team performance.


    • A B.A./B.S., with a strong academic record. All undergraduate majors are welcome to apply; a quantitative background and numeracy is a major plus.
    • The ability to multitask, work under deadlines, and collaborate with people both in the office and remotely; the ability to track multiple projects in flight simultaneously, handle multiple overlapping priorities, and stay cool under pressure.
    • Meticulous attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with, experience in, and a passion for software development is a big plus. In any case, the position requires a passion for learning about technology, software development, and the business impact of software.
    • Strong writing skills are a plus.
    • One to two years of varied undergraduate or postgraduate work experience.
    • A working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database software.
