    About This Role:

    The Head of Events Program Management is a senior position at Forrester, reporting to the global head of events. This individual will be responsible for: 1) defining Forrester’s event content and programs strategy in partnership with the research team; 2) managing a team of program managers; 3) creating quality content and innovative experiences for all Forrester events — the strategy must result in content for each event that demonstrates thought leadership and highlights leading-edge market strategies resulting in audience growth; 4) identifying innovative content delivery experiences that result in high satisfaction rates from attendees; 5) working in partnership with events sponsorship team to share event value proposition and content positioning to help drive sponsorship sales in the best interest of the organization; and 6) identifying expansion opportunities in current portfolio and/or net new opportunities to underpin financial growth. The ideal candidate will work closely with other members of the events team to set a new standard for the customer experience that Forrester delivers at events as well as with strategic stakeholders within the organization to define and identify opportunities to showcase Forrester’s full product portfolio at events.


    • Creates a positive and supportive team environment by leading through example.
    • Captures the opportunity to showcase our internal thought leadership IP as the fundamental pillar in defining a ‘must-attend event’ within our agendas.
    • Identifies potential new event opportunities to complement the portfolio for revenue and margin growth.
    • Continuously reviews opportunities to improve and innovate event-based products.
    • Establishes and manages the content development timelines to ensure event themes and agendas are finalized in time to go to market.
    • Produces best practice templates to create a consistent set of deliverables which will be executed in the same way in every event run.
    • Defines innovative ways of presenting content and activations and engages the audience at Forrester events to create a new and exciting customer experience.
    • Creates a platform to showcase additional Forrester products at the events (i.e., Learning, Consulting, and Feedback Now 2.0).
    • Ensures that the overall event content and event-level KPIs are met and/or exceeded and, if a score underperforms, conducts due diligence to quantify why and makes recommendations for improvement.
    • Produces innovative programs to capture targeted audiences in order to create an exclusive opportunity that drives greater value in attending the event.
    • Manages a team of content program managers to ensure that defined best practices, processes, and templates are utilized and executed at each event.
    • Partners with the events marketing team to drive innovative and provocative marketing communications.
    • Partners with sponsorship sales team in identifying potential innovative products/activations that would help create/increase engagement between attendees and sponsors.
    • Partners with sponsorship team in articulating the value proposition of each event in order to help meet/exceed sponsorship targets.
    • Creates the most compelling attendee-driven conference agenda based on market needs and requirements, in close partnership with the research chair.
    • Collaborates with key influencers and stakeholders including: 1) Forrester Research, Consulting, Leadership Board, and ForresterNow2.0; 2) research sales, customer success, and ESR teams; 3) marketing and design teams; 4) sponsorship sales team; and 5) conference operations/logistics team.
    • Specifically, the Head of Events Program Management:
      • Creates client-focused programs that will deliver the highest results.
      • Identifies and secures guest speakers: keynote speakers, panelists, case studies, etc.
      • Drives primary and secondary market research to understand client issues and behaviors.
      • Identifies target audience and defines positioning for assigned conferences.
      • Works in partnership with exhibitor products team and identifies and defines sponsorship opportunities for the events.
      • Identifies and evaluates competitive events, including attending competitive events.
      • Evangelizes and promotes assigned conferences to internal and external constituents.
      • Innovates conference experiences, content, and formats.
      • Works closely with events marketing team to create compelling messages and campaigns to drive growth and increase retention.
      • Assists with the development of partnerships with associations, user groups, and media sources.
      • Collaborates with events sales team to identify prospective exhibitors, articulate the value proposition, and accelerate sales growth and retention.
      • Collaborates with events operations team to ensure we deliver a great attendee and sponsor experience in an efficient and cost-effective way.


    • Bachelor’s degree; MBA is preferred.
    • 15-plus years of experience in conference management or content-rich program planning.
    • Five to seven-plus years of experience in conference content strategy, development, and creation.
    • Experience with large, complex multiday/multitrack conference programs is preferred.
    • Proven ability to drive overall direction and development of conference programs, specifically: content strategy and creation, agenda development, speaker management, etc.
    • Experience in driving or supporting audience and sponsorship acquisition.
    • Proven track record of creating and executing strategy and identifying untapped market and growth opportunities.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative matrix environment, with strong stakeholder management skills.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to influence.
    • Global/multinational event experience is strongly preferred.
    • Good multiproject management, prioritization, and time management skills.
    • IT/tech sector familiarity or interest is a plus.
    • The ability to accommodate moderate travel, including international.
