    About This Role:

    This exciting opportunity at Forrester Research is to join one of our growing practice areas as a Principal Analyst to help executive-level clients tackle today’s employee experience challenges. This person will serve as a thought leader on a full range of employee experience (HR) topics including: strategy, culture, leadership, recruitment/retention, motivation and engagement, governance, tech enablement, development, and performance management. This individual will also fuel the implementation of a great employee experience and explore the impact on those experiences in the future of work.


    Our ideal candidate has an innovative ability to see beyond conventions of the workplace and has experience working in high-performing companies with superior employee dynamics or has led employee transformation programs. As a Principal Analyst, you must be able to inspire executive-level clients with forward-looking examples and best practices for creating and improving contemporary employee experiences now and in the context of the future of work through published research reports, one-on-one advisory sessions, consulting projects, and speeches. You will also serve as a thought leader in a broad range of industries, including the healthcare, financial services, consumer products, and retail businesses.


    The Principal Analyst works as part of a small but potent collection of thought leaders within our employee experience/future of work practice and collaborates with others in all aspects of the job. Responsibilities include:

    • Developing a deep understanding of our executive-level employee experience clients and the key challenges they face.
    • Conducting primary research and synthesizing data on a full range of employee experience (HR) topics such as how to create contemporary work environments and behavior, how to build innovative employee cultures, how to quantify and prioritize investment in employee experience, and how to implement enterprisewide human transformation initiatives.
    • Helping our clients anticipate how employee experience will evolve over the next five years and how they can impact their business and capitalize on these expected changes.
    • Writing up to 12 in-depth research documents per year that address the issues that are top-of-mind with our target clients.
    • Providing telephone and email responses to inquiries placed by Forrester clients.
    • Serving as an advisor and consultant to our clients by applying Forrester’s syndicated research on employee experience topics to the specific issues facing their organizations.
    • Presenting at Forrester-sponsored and industry-related events and delivering client webinars.
    • Developing a strong online and offline presence through usage of social media tools and PR.
    • Providing business development support via telephone calls and face-to-face meetings with Forrester prospects as arranged by Forrester’s account leadership teams.


    • BA or BS degree at minimum; MBA or MS is preferred.
    • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a practitioner or consultant in employee-focused environments, people strategy, or any related field.
    • Experience with employee experience issues and challenges.
    • Superior client-facing communication and collaboration skills with researchers, analytics, subject matter experts, and account leaders, as well as our own employee experience team.
    • Interest in and point of view on the relationship between humans and machines now and in the context of the future of work.
    • Openness, understanding, and knowledge of the complex issues related to diversity, equity, values, and inclusion.
    • Obsessively curious mind, with a record of success validating your own thought leadership, even to those with contrasting points of view.
    • Superior analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
    • The ability to travel 30% to 50% of the time.
