    About This Role:

    Forrester is seeking a Vice President, Research Director to lead a research team for our financial services practice. This role helps financial services (finserv) decision makers drive their firm’s success in a hyper-digital and customer-led world.

     

    The VP, Research Director is responsible for defining a compelling and actionable research agenda that addresses the needs of innovators in charge of strategy and technology decisions in the financial services sector, constantly challenges their thinking, and helps them lead change. This person also ensures the quality of the research produced by the financial services research team in the areas of banking, insurance, and wealth management.

     

    Our ideal candidate is someone who has the ability to partner effectively with both seasoned and new analysts and is passionate about helping individuals achieve their full potential as strategic thinkers and writers.

     

    As an advocate and champion for the team and research within Forrester and with our clients, the successful candidate will partner closely with our global sales organization in pursuing new business opportunities and enriching existing client relationships.

    Responsibilities

    • Engage as a thought partner with the analyst team to refine and expand the existing research agenda.
    • Shape the narrative of syndicated research content and ensure the quality of our intellectual property.
    • Co-author thought-leading research pieces and deliver a limited amount of consulting based on that research.
    • Serve as a mentor and coach to new members of the research team in support of their professional development goals.
    • Work with the sales team to develop prospect and client engagement strategies and pursue business opportunities.
    • Provide input and support to the team of other Forrester professionals who serve financial services clients.
    • Meet the team performance goals for smooth content production, consulting revenues, and client support.
    • Participate in Forrester-sponsored and other events to drive financial services research awareness in our digital practice.

    Qualifications

    • A strong record of academic achievement.
    • At least 15 years of experience as a practitioner or consultant in financial services areas such as banking, insurance, and/or wealth management.
    • Minimum five years experience of managing a team of 10 people or larger
    • Demonstrated ability to advise senior-level clients.
    • Knowledge of financial services issues and challenges.
    • Superior analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
    • The ability to travel 15% to 20% of the time.
