About This Role:

As a core member of Forrester’s executive team, the Chief People Officer will serve as Forrester’s principal architect in developing and executing human capital strategy in support of the strategic direction of the company.


Of key importance to this role is to be a trusted confidante to our CEO and to build productive working relationships with both the executive team and other key members of the leadership team in order to best advise them on key organizational issues related to the attainment of business objectives. The Chief People Officer will play an integral part in strengthening Forrester’s capacity to innovate at every level of the organization and will help push Forrester’s key initiatives forward.


Job Description:

  • Act as a trusted partner and coach to the CEO and members of the executive leadership team.
  • Identify business and interpersonal gaps in the executive leadership team and drive alignment by building bridges and helping the team become more effective.
  • Maintain and inspire a strong, effective, and leading employee experience (HR) organization that delivers on the company’s agenda.
  • Lead the hiring of the next great generation of Forresterites.
  • As an executive sponsor, help shape and drive Forrester’s diversity and inclusion strategy.
  • Seek out ways to maximize our Workday investment — to make processes move faster, remove friction from transactions, and accumulate data to enable more rational decisions faster — with better results.
  • As an executive sponsor, help shape and drive our future flexible work strategy.
  • Engage with clients on the topics of employee experience and customer experience.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the employee experience function by overseeing all facets of HR, globally. In doing so, develop progressive, proactive, and cost-effective processes and programs that align with the market and Forrester’s business objectives.
  • Serve as a key partner in potential acquisition activity and implementation.
  • Identify competency, knowledge, and talent gaps and drive programs to fill these gaps.
  • Provide thorough and timely preparation for compensation committee meetings, working with the chief financial officer, chief legal officer, and the chair of the board of directors’ compensation committee.
  • Working closely with the director of compensation and outside consultant(s), provide analysis and recommendations on executive compensation and equity.
  • Evolve policies and programs relating to employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employment complaints, external education, and career development.

 Job Requirements:

  • Twenty-plus years of business and HR leadership within world-class global organizations, including North America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific.
  • Experience in leading human resources at a high-growth, mid- to large-size, publicly traded global organization.
  • Strength in leading and developing senior people inside and outside HR.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching and advising a CEO on an ongoing basis, resulting in more effective leadership.
  • Prior experience in coaching and developing a company’s senior leadership team, as well as in partnering with and influencing a company’s board of directors.
  • The ability to become a trusted advisor to members of the executive team and the tools to drive the effectiveness of the top leaders.
  • Strong proven experience in leading change and the diversity and inclusion programs.
  • Experience in professional services, research, or high-technology industry is preferred.
  • A strong mix of business skills and employee experience expertise.
  • Expertise across a variety of human resources disciplines, including performance management, leadership development, change management, leadership, talent acquisition, HRIS, and compensation and benefits.
  • Demonstrated accomplishment in meshing culture change initiatives with the strategic direction of the business.
