About This Role:

As a Principal Analyst focused on shaping today’s digital enterprise, you will deliver an innovative and actionable research and advisory portfolio that addresses the strategic needs of the chief information officer (CIO), chief technology officer (CTO), chief data officer, chief marketing officer, and digital business leaders with emphasis on digital transformation through the implementation of platforms, services, software as a service (SaaS), marketplaces, and digital products. You will also serve as an advisor on the selection and management of consultancies and service providers. As an experienced analyst and practitioner, your goal will be to help influence how executives think about the power of digital to improve their business, products, marketing, and employee experiences today while reshaping new customer and employee experiences tomorrow. The ideal candidate should be able to provide thought leadership on digital transformation at the enterprise level across strategy and innovation, culture and skills, change, governance, and enablers.

 

Job Description:

  • Thought leadership: Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker. Speak with the press, present at Forrester and external industry events, and deliver client presentations and webinars.
  • Anticipate technological shifts and determine the best strategy to overhaul, create, or enhance digital experiences for a more effective customer, business, or employee experience using enterprise platforms and services.
  • Understand how to integrate digital into all aspects of the business through operating models, incentives, and culture.
  • As a technology leader, advise on transformation strategies across an organization to make a broad impact in business transformation.
  • Articulate the design and implementation of the modern enterprise app stack, data and business platforms, and digital products, including the integration of major tech components: digital operations platform, enterprise resource planning, digital asset management, product information management, commerce, SaaS apps, etc.
  • Content planning: Work with colleagues to determine an integrated research and content portfolio to help clients succeed in digital business and transformation efforts.
  • Research: Oversee, conduct, and analyze primary research, market trends, threats, and opportunities based on a content plan.
  • Publishing: Write/produce content in various formats (reports, blog posts, data digests, infographics, videos, etc.).
  • Client engagement: Apply Forrester’s research and frameworks to help clients solve business challenges through short- and long-term consulting engagements.
  • Coverage development: Evolve and productize your marketplace coverage, and work with Forrester sales and analyst relations to evangelize it with clients and prospects.
  • Consulting support: Collaborate closely with the consulting team to provide guidance and expertise. Work across the Forrester ecosystem to support the delivery of custom strategy consulting projects.

 

Job Requirements:

  • A strong academic record and commercial achievement.
  • At least 10 years’ experience as an analyst, consultant, or practitioner (CIO, CTO, vice president/director of digital, technology strategist) focusing on digital business strategies or transformation.
  • Previous experience as a consultant and trusted advisor to senior management and C-level clients.
  • Knowledgeable of the issues and challenges in developing technology strategies and deploying and maintaining digital business at scale.
  • Proven understanding of how to organize and manage matrix teams for enterprise digital projects that deliver business value through technology.
  • Demonstrated success in leading or executing a digital business or product portfolio or have led or been responsible for a digital transformation effort in a major enterprise.
  • Superior analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to travel 25% of the time or more (in a normal conditions).
