About This Role:

The Senior Manager, Tax reports to the VP of tax and prepares Forrester’s global tax accounting and reporting as well as its domestic tax compliance. The successful candidate will establish and maintain all tax-related policies and procedures, manage outside tax advisors, prepare all financial statement tax accounts, and ensure domestic compliance. This role actively assists with tax due diligence and structuring for potential acquisitions and with the development of an efficient and effective tax team. We are looking for a highly motivated, service-focused individual who can work independently within Forrester’s various business and functional departments. This position can work remotely with an occasional office visit for a special finance meeting or department teambuilding.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation of the global income tax provision and related footnote disclosures on an annual and quarterly basis, including analysis of uncertain tax positions, deferred tax valuation allowances, return-to-provision adjustments, Section 382 limitations, etc.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of domestic-income-tax work papers, tax returns, estimated tax payments, and non-income-tax compliance.
  • Manage the accuracy of the tax accounts.
  • Analyze and monitor international tax compliance, including US Form 5471, foreign entity compliance, foreign dividends, and subsidiary earnings and profits.
  • Develop and train the tax staff (there is currently one analyst and one manager reporting to the senior manager of tax).
  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and outside tax consultants for the annual and quarterly tax provision calculations, compliance preparation, as well as any technical research positions.
  • Actively assist with global initiatives, such as effective tax rate planning and structuring, acquisition due diligence, treasury efficiency projects, and analysis of the impact of proposed legislation.
  • Assist with ad hoc international tax related assignments.
  • Lead tax research effort as required in tax planning and analysis.
  • Manage federal, state, and local income tax audits.
  • Maintain proper internal controls related to tax for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Lead/assist on ad hoc projects.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Four to six years’ supervisory experience.
  • Public accounting experience (a plus, but not required).
  • CPA and/or MST (a plus, but not required).
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical skills and solid business experience.
  • Computer skills and modeling.
  • Initiative, confidence, intelligence, and energy.
